posted by brakken 11-19-2008 |
 |
n00bey has released a new version of his DronS homebrew game for the Nintendo DS. DronS is based on the lightcycle sequence from the movie classic movie Tron.
Quote:
Players drive trough a 3D world, they make lines behind them. They have to avoid to drive into those lines~
The last player alive wins
So you could compare it with games like Snake / Nibbles etc~
|

+ Mirroring got it's own menu
+ Added "Player left!" message
+ You can change the distance between you & the wall you have to be for speeding-up
+ Multi-Langual support, [Now I just need translations...]
+ Czech translation added [translated by Programix ]
+ Spanish translation added [translated by FraGMenT ]
+ German translation added [translated by n00bey ]
* Now the car is loaded just out of one model and then rotated... (Last time there were a model for each way xD )
* Color values are displayed in percent now
* Changed the rumble a bit
* Some small changes in the server here and there
* Merged many if-clauses ... if(bla) if(lol) if(wtf) return true; -> if(bla&&lol&&wtf) return true;
* Fixed the check for existance of configuration files...
* Menu scrolls now, because the old menu over the whole screen died on longer entries
* CPUs are now shown 2 in one row to save you from endless scrolling
* Fixed the "Player joined" message, as it also told you that someone joined if he left
* After Playing online you're getting back your configuration
* In onlineplay youre now playing with YOUR color
* Wohay, the game actualy is quite on its limit... I have to reduce maximal lines to 255 to prevent horrible laggs
~ Tanks to GuSec, Cas & everyone else who tested the server with me-
- LAN Play removed because it is too much work to keep the online-server that small it can be run while playing
- Player limit set to 10 [Performance reasons... It was just too much ]
- Removed the keyboard code~ (Since its not used anymore)

Sony's New PSP-3000 Hacked? Possibly ... |
posted by brakken 11-19-2008 |
 |
A known source for misinformation has published an article on a new product by Datel that supposedly boots Sony's new Sony PSP 3000 series portable video gaming console into service mode. Maxconsole claims that once in service mode already available custom firmware's can be installed on the new console.
Quote:

Once you're in service mode, you can downgrade your PSP and pretty much do what you want with it! - Maxconsole
|
Datel claims their new "Lite Blue Tool" was created by reverse engineering the new security chip in the PSP console via silicon level investigation.
Quote:
|
Although there were early indications that the PSP3000 had embedded Service Mode capability, it was clear that silicon level investigation would be required to understand the new mechanism - Datel
|
However, there is already growing skeptisism to Datel's new product via a known member of the PSP hacking community. Alek claims that the fact the PSP's light is on and the console is in service mode doesn't mean you can install a custom firmware.

About new D@tel Battery
You might have seen a new Battery that has come into the market, as always with a price and with a good advertising program...
Well, this post is just to answer some mails that I've received.
1. To have a LED indicator ON, doesn't means that you can install cfw or hack anything. Remember 088v3 mobos? Right.
2. It's spreading like a timebomb that it can be hacked and so on. Well, what any user can see is an interesting campaign to promote an article that is not yet released. It would be interesting to see.. how about an old "hello world" like on Noobz time, instead of a "buy today" call?
3. Just to remember all this things up, LED indicator ON and nothing on screen means directly what Dark_AleX explained here about the preIPL.
Would be an interesting step, indeed, in case that the protection on 3k would be sort of a signal encryption or a change of protocol instead of just a change of the battery pin communication system; so, until more proofs come into play, I would not definitely go in a rush to buy it xD.
|
So is this another advertising push to make money (as with the CycloWiz) by Maxconsole or is Datel's really onto something? Even if when in service mode you can't install a custom firmware it still is a step in the right direction. If in service mode you can install a custom firmware then this is the first product that can help you hack the Sony PSP 3000.
