Wii remote not responding... urgent!
For the last few days my wii remote doesnt respond to the system. The power button powers up the system turning it on and then goes to the preloader menu which says: IOSv60, preloader v0.29, System menu v418.
But when I press A or any button on the remote, the 4 lights at the bottom flash for a few seconds and then turn off, I have tried new batteries as well and even tried the sync feature with the red button on the remote and the console next to the sd card slot.
Unsure why one day it works and i have done no modding and next day just doesnt want to work. Please some assistance would be great. Might also ring nintendo help line to ask. Thanks.

use a gc pad or the buttons on the wii to get into the system menu then re-sync your wiimote, and try again.

Unfortunately the buttons wont work to get me to the system menu, is there a way to get me here without a GC pad as I dont have one, or a way to dlete this preloader so it will boot to the main menu? I appreciate your help in advance, thanks for taking the time to assist.

Ok, I had a similar issue before.
1. Unplug your wii.
2. Plug it back in
3. press power on the wii remote
Give it a few tries it might give you a little trouble but thats how I got the wii remotes to work with preloader. Hope this helps

This may be completely stupid on my part, but it seems like most homebrew applications that use GC controls also use the Power and Reset button on the Wii to navigate.
I'm pretty sure someone would have said something by now if that were the case for Preloader, but I thought it was worth mentioning anyway.
Good luck, lil_groover

Yes as dynamite said you can use the power and reset buttons to navigate which I have tried but all they do is their purpose, they dont let me navigate on this preloader menu. Still trying to find someone to borrow their GC controller hehe. Thanks.

Try this, this is similar to above
Turn off your wii
Unplug & plug it back in
Press power on the wii remote
Keep hitting the buttons on the wii remote until you see it lit up.

Just unplugged everything from the system to the wall etc and plugged it back in and turned it on with the remote which I did and I was there for a few minutes pressing all the buttons but still just the 4 lights down the bottom kept flashing. Thanks anyways but I'm going to have to fine a GC remote to assist, thanks.

I was in a gamestore EB games and they didn't have one. Said they are not a current console the gamecube. That's what made me buy one online. Also couldn't find one in a Kmart or Target.
