Thanks for the excellent instructions. However not sure if its something I am doing but after I have patched the IOS 36 the HBR is then upside down. Can someone please advise how to correct this.

Problem here. I'm at installing the preloader and I get this error:

Got Root!
Unable to get ticket, aborting mission...



Now, I don't have a "hacks.ini" file with in my preloader folder, may this be the cause? (I can't find any hacks.ini files for 4.0u)

more info on my system:
-newly bought system with firmware 4.0u
-homebrew channel was installed with BootMii in IOS mode

you need to trucha patch IOS36, use a application called trucha bug restorer 1.1

I solved it. What I needed was install PreLoader 0.29 before, then upgrade to 0.30.

another dum-dum, I as well have installed preloader.29 on my 3.4u. My back up nand didn't work. Decided to use waninkoko's 4.1 update and got the following error. >>Installing title...ERROR! ( ret = - 1036 ) PLEASE HELP

If your problem is that your systemmenu doesn't work (something about corrupted files); go into preloader options and choose to use IOS36 for Systemmenu. That should work.

I followed the steps but I can't install Bootmii as boot2 or even install it as an IOS !

At the beginning there was in green letters written that I am able to install it as a boot2,but when i try there is an error !

Any idea why ?

hi need help i stared with a non modded wii and updated officail. then i followed this guide everything worked but when i try using wad manager or try to update the new ios rev14 my controller keeps turning off. at the start of each program. i also can't play any backup games.

Hi,
I have the same problem as Pukers: HBC upside down (everything else is ok). It happened on the second phase on TBR by following the tutorial. I finished the TBR procedure (kinda difficult to deal with the wimote upside down) but stopped right there and did not install Preloader (thank God as it is not usable on a 3.4e version) and cIOS38r13b.
Anyway I still cannot play backup games as I still get the error with NeoGamma: “DVD rear err (972) no cIOS”.
3.4e / Bootmii as IOS (but able to use the Power and Reset button with Bootmii) / no internet connection
What can I do to restore the HBC and play the backup games?
