After softmoding I replace my original drive (D3 Drive) it’s not working.

When I put old drive its working fine.
But I want using D3 drive.

there is a new drive that comes with the latest wii's, if you get the first version of the d3 dvd drive, you'll be playing your backups fine. but i think your got the version 2 of the D3 DVD Drive. any backup loaders don't work on that drive as of now. if only someone could develop a new loader compatible for the new drives? we can play our backups again...i feel sorry for you, luckily you have an extra drive, use it for now. or play your backups on wbfs drives use a usb loader

Hi everyone

Recently bought 2 WIIs in KOrea with 3.5k

I'm following Wes's guide. Must comment something:

- I downloaded the soft 3 times but evrytime MII Channel.wad can´t be extracted from the zip (Wes just for you to know)
- I followed the rest of the steps (except installing MII Channel as I can't) and stopped when using the WII Backup Disk: "Exception: Verify_Cover Failed"

I burned the image with NERO (also tried with POWERISO but says that the ISO is not compatible) and downloaded the zip many times but I always have the same message (always verified the burning)

Wes, can you please upload MII Chanel wad separately and tell me if I'm doing something wrong

Many thanks

as for the mii channel, use nus downloader to get the mii channel.

here:http://wiibrew.org/wiki/NUS_Downloader

for the wii backup disc

use imageburn to burn the ISO, use a DVD-R

or

if you have a 1gb flash drive you can format this with wbfs manager 3.0 and install the iso... use usb loader 1.1 or 1.2 version

here you can get the wbfs manager:http://wbfsmanager.codeplex.com/Rele...eleaseId=26808

Did this to happen? It's a little bit frigtenning... ;-)

By the way, which MII Channel do I have to download with NUS? Korean version...? I would be greteful fro some more explanation

did you mean a 4.2K version. no. this will not do.
if it is 4.2k,the approach would be different.
i'll be making a new guide for virgin 4.2k. i ordered a new korean wii, its going to arrive this week. i'll update it first then start making the guide.

wish me luck.

if your going to upgrade to 4.2U, do it manually, not in ninty way. or you'll get your self an error 003.

Hi, tried again (I swear that did nothing different!) and it worked!!!

Can I change the region to Europe without damaging it? How should I do it?

At the moment I'm burning "Grand Slam Tenis [MULTI5][PAL][WII]" to make the first test (domnloading region changer at the same time).

When trying to download MII Channel with NUSD (Title ID 00010002HACA and v 6) I get this message: "Download Failed: tmd.6
- Reason: (401) Unauthorized." Any idea?

Many thanks WES (didn't say yet but nice job!)

Maybe I'm making a stupid question but... can I play games from any region? European PAL for example...?

I didn't use "Supersmash bros brawl" tu update the WII (don't have it yet). Should I?

Thanks again

don't use anyregion changer in korean wiis, instead change your region manually, use wad manager to install system menu 3.2E

on this part:

On HomeBrew Channel
-load WADMANAGER 1.5 (use 249)
-install SYSTEMMENU-v289.WAD <--- replace this part with system menu v290.wad use nusd
-install NEOGAMMA R7.WAD <---- you don't need to do this
-install ULNR_r628.wad <---- you don't need to do this
-after the installation EXIT wad manager

ON HOMEBREW CHANNEL
- load and install PRELOADER
-continuesly press 1 to install

Quote:

yes you can, the loader is region free, and neogamma has a settings for loading games. but not all games can be played on different region. like wii fit

if you don't have ssbb use mario kart.

Oooooohhhh I fucked it up!!

As an impatiant man...tried to do it with anyregion changer before you answered. It gave me some errors when tried to change to 3.2e. Then tried to go back to 3.2u but had errors again and in the menu was not shown any version for the region.

After powering off it doesn´t power on again. Tried to press reset while powers on but doesn't work neither. Full brick?

It it's not (GOD-WES help me!) how I repair it?

What a f*?king morning! Sorry...

I had/have two Korean WIIs with 3.5k. I will try to explain what I made to... hope you can help me:

WII1: followed the guide's steps. Managed to get 3.2U working (Wes's method works!). Then fucked up trying to chande regio with Anyregion Changer from 3.2U to 3.2E. I tried to download and install 3.2E but it gave an error so tried to go back to 3.2U with the same app and again gave an error. Powered off the WII and now it doesn't power on. Power button changes from red to blue but nothing appears on the TV screen.

WII2: downloaded 3.2E menu wuth NUSD. Followed all the steps and installed systemmenu 3.2E correctly. Installed NEOGAMMA R7.WAD and ULNR_r628.wad from original software. Until this point everything ok. Went on and changed settings for autoboot and "return to". Selected System menu IOS 30 but when rebooting it gave an error and couldn't charge Systemmenu. Charged Wadmanager and unistalled 3.2E and followed all step from this point for 3.2U (like I did with WII1). When power on the WII I get a black screen (with WII1 just nothing)

Did this morning become an expensive morning?? Did I get two expensive bricks??

I assumed the risks, my fault... God I learned the lesson, let me have them back and will be a good guy. I promise...

i edit the the god thing, im not a god

do you have a back up of your nand?

you got a full brick wii. the only solution now is an external programmer and betwiin and a compatible nand dump.

after you change your region with ARC, the preloader will be overwritten. ARC is not compatible with korean wiis. that's why i recommend you to manually change your region. i feel sorry for what happen.

if you can buy an INFECTUS and dump your nand with it and find a compatible nand dump for your wii, you can then use BETWIIN to convert the nand dump
to work for your wii.

owch...you shouldn't uninstall the system menu, that will kill the wii.

anywayz, i'm working now for unbricking wiis. i just have to finish this project and test it a few times. i might help you if i finish this.

Well... Are then both wii full brick? As I said one has got a black screen and the other has no screen at all...

I tried to make a backup of the dump. tried Wiind, yanwiind and another one but always had an error so went on without a backup (I know, I know...). Even with a programmer I would need my key, isn´t it? Or does the programmer get it?

Ok. I think this time I WILL WAIT for your guideness. If you want a couple of WIIS to test for your unbricking project you have a couple here... I have nothing to lose.

I wait for your words. Maraming salamat!!

Default update

Hi Wes,

first of all thx for the guide, I was able to sofmod my Korean 3.5 to 3.2U following Ur detailed procedure almost till the end when I suppose to use supersmash bros brawl disc (or mario kart) to update the wii.

I dont have the game disk so I tried loading by USB, both games work fine but after I check I cant see any update to my wii, its still 3.2U...

I dont mind keeping it with 3.2U, any advantages in using an updated version?

now I set on the preloader the following:

-"ENABLED" Skip Disc Update Check
-"ENABLED" Remove nocopy protection

is now safe to connect the WII to the internet or I still risk to get it updated to 4.2 and brick it?

many thanks!

Hey Wes - Great Tutorial Mate :-) .... Waiting for a NEW 3.5K to try it on :-)

I was looking for some help with regards to a 3.5K that is currently at 4.0U ...

About the consoles history ... i do not have much information as it is been modded by someone else and its a friends box that i trying to help with ....

Though ... i believe it has been changed to 4.0U using ARC ..... And now i understand that is BAD ...

I tried to see if i can update it to 4.1 using Wanin's Updater .... But that is where the issue starts ....

I can access HomeBrew as it is installed it shows all the apps on the screen but trying to install anything or load any app fails with a Black Screen :-) - Not sure what that means ...
Also installed is Backup Loader [that does not work] .....

Is there anything that can be done to fix it and make it work completely ..... Any Help will be greatly appreciated and All the best on the unbricking work ....

Cheer Mate and will wait for your reply

no don't update to ninty server. you'll end up on error 003 if you want to update your wii, do it manually. install your system menu and the required IOS for the sysmenu using wad manager. you must have a working IOS249 to do it successfully, and just to be safe after you exit wad manager on HBC install preloader.
