Wouldn't it be better if the thing compiled based on system emulated? (drivers I mean)... I see the executable is 14MB which is a lot compared to the whole memory wii has.
Maybe then those games that are not supported due to memory issues may work...

Vendetta/Crime Fighterrs 2 already worked in the previous version. You just have to perform the start procedure as stated on MAWS:
"The first time you run the game, the EEPROM 13B is BAD in the RAM/ROM CHECK. Hold down the test switch (F2) until you see the message "TEST... COMPLETE"."

I'm hoping in the future this emu might be able to support the games Rodland, POW, The New Zeland Story, Ironman Stewarts Super Off Road, Pang and Super Pang?
...I can't complain though as pretty much all the other games I want to work now already do (obviously apart from CPS2). Once the limited GUI game select problem is resolved I'll be a very happy bunny!
Nice work Toag King!

Great, great work. Wish I had the talent to help you on this project. I note that you've added hard drive support under FAT - got any plans to include NTFS using libntfs?
Thanks so much for the effort and making it happen.

Great update! Got Double Dragon working on this build and I saw a few improvements to some of the roms like Rastan and Captain America and The Avengers.
Not sure if this is a universal thing, but I noticed that once I get the message for a bad romset that still loads, it not only disabled audio for that romset, but any prior working romset that I have. Once I reload SDL Mame however, it fixes that.
So for now, I am looking forward to having roms appear in alphabetical order by title and a pause feature during the game.
Great work to Toad King and anyone else involved.

Needs speed
Until the GFX rendering is fixed this is kind of unuseable in my opinion.
Frameskipping is not a valid work around - it means instead of showing
all the frames of a game it instead skips and only shows a few.
Contrary to what I'm hearing some say, nothing runs "choppy" when
frameskip is off. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Games run smooth
when frame skipping is OFF. They may run slow but at least we are
being shown all the frames. Turning frameskip ON is what makes things
choppy. I worked on the whiite Linux distro and if I recall correctly
I complied M.A.M.E. under it and it ran better than this and that was
more than 1/2 a year ago. I know the Linux community has made more
progress now. Hopefully Toad King can get this hitting the hardware
and we will then have a killer emulator!
In it's current state however it is just too slow.
Hopefully hardware rendering will come soon!
KUDOS for all the work done so far Toad King!

Well, I tried the latest 0.3.1 version and it finally fixes the folder paths !!! ...
In previous version (0.3) I had to put all the mame folders on the "root" of my SD card (standard Kingston 2GB). Now in 0.3.1 all the folder paths are working on their appropiate folders. Thanks for fix that !
By the way, could you give some support to T-Unit (Midway) games? It would be fantastic to run classical fighting games like "Mortal Kombat" and other nice games from that company.
See ya!

So you'd rather play a game slowly rather than missing a few frames per second?
Sorry, but that doesn't make any sense. Playing a game in slow motion is just not enjoyable. Please do keep the auto frameskip on by default, since the Wii just isn't capable of running most of these games at full speed, and people are starting to complain about the slowness of the new build... Many games are just unplayable without turning the frame skipping on.
By the way, I'm surprised at how well games like Diet Go Go run. This is one of the games that don't have sound farts while running, I wish all of them sounded like this one.

Hell Yeah to WRESTLEFEST!!!!
in only a couple weeks this emulator can already do so much, very impressive Toad King.. I hope others can look at your source code and contribute to this project. Especially folks familiar with SDL optimization and emulation on Wii like Tantric or Eke-Eke

ICE: No you're not listening to me.
I would rather not play a game in slow motion OR in STROBE MOTION.
The emulator is too slow. None of the games can seriously be played
either way. I know many of you don't recognize the difference between
quality and novelty but unless you're only loading the games for novelty
reasons they're pretty useless if you have to see every other frame
to supposedly "play" them.
What I'm saying is unless an emulator is running 1:1 then it isn't
realspeed and is therefore not really useable for anything other than
a novelty. Once the emulator gets hardware rendering it will move
from being a novety to a useable emulator. Until then I give my
support and interest but won't be playing anything on it.
The Linux port ran realspeed, I remember because I had to set
mame.ini to frameskip=0 and after I did it worked properly.
(It had come default with frameskip on also but after it was turned
off many games ran 1:1) Therefore either this emulator is doing
something slower than the Linux port or the Linux port was
hitting hardware. I think there is just something slowing it down
and hopefully with some optimization it will be able to do true 1:1.

I played through a few games start to finish and had fun, so I wouldn't call it useless, not to mention that you boldly claim we can't see the differerence in quality and novelty, which is laughable. It's a work in progress and we're all having fun trying it out and sending feedback on what can be improved.

You have the wrong romset.
They did that to me when I first tried them, until hunting down the 134 mame romset.

Great Work Toad King.
I think the next step is to create a procedure for exit to HBC.
And Speed Improvments ........ .......
Maybe you can add some filters to get better good looking in TV.
Continue the great job....

Press Plus and Minus in the emulator at the same time and then you'll see the option to exit the emulator (to HBC) already.
