[SOLVED] help using homebrew channel
help a newbie please? I'm having trouble using homebrew channel.
my system: ntsc wii (d2c chip) with argon modchip installed (and updated with latest firmware). wii system menu is 3.2u.
I downloaded and burnt the "homebrew channel iso USA" and installed it in my wii... it now shows up on my wii menu.
But I can't seem to run any homebrew progs. I put them in an "apps" folder on a SD.. and nothing. So I renamed the dol or elf file to "boot.dol". Now they show up on the homebrew channel, but if I try to run one, it just stays on loading...0% forever. Homebrews I initially tried were the homebrew disc chan, the CIOS36r5, and the wad installer. All got stuck at 0% loading.
Also, another note... if I try to exit the homebrew channel back to the wii menu, the screen goes black and all buttons freeze. I must unplug the console to reset it.
Can anyone help? I'd like to try some of the homebrews out there. Am I missing a key step or something?
[FOLLOWUP]
I solved the problem. beta 8 doesn't like the GC memory cards. When I removed them, homebrew worked just fine. I was then able to update to beta 9, which doesn't seem to care one way or another about the GC cards.
